Since 2012, Shireen has fronted the 6-piece Latin dance rock band ¡Chiringa! This fiery ensemble based out of Bend, Oregon plays "rockified" tropical covers as well as original funk-rock infused Latin music. Shireen is the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for this band, which includes Johnny Riordan on congas and timbales, Tom Freedman on bass and trumpet, Matthew Williams on drum kit, Heather Fossmo on backup vocals, and Jon Harnum on trumpet and keys. ¡Chiringa! invites people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the joy of Latin music and celebrate life together like one big family!  In 2017, the band released its debut album called "Familia," which is available for streaming on all platforms. 

¡Chiringa! has become a local and regional sensation, packing top Central Oregon venues such as the Silver Moon Brewing Co., Les Schwab Amphitheater, Volcanic Theater Pub, McMenamins Old St. Francis School, and performing the largest festival stages in town including the Bend Summer Festival main stage. The band has opened for one of their idols, Ozomatli, as part of Bend's Munch and Music series and also has played the opening Performance Garden Stage at the Britt Fest in Jacksonville, Oregon for one of their greatest musical influences, the Gipsy Kings. ¡Chiringa! has toured throughout the Portland, Ashland, and Eugene areas, making waves in the greater Pacific Northwest region with their passionate, joyful, and high-energy shows.
